Halfway between a lipstick and a lip balm, Cocoon glides onto your lips, bringing an intense colour with comfort and care for lips. It’s rich texture softens lips, enabling easy application. Enriched with organic pomegranate extract and organic shea butter, the formula soothes and repairs lips. Pomegranate is renowned for its antioxidant and anti-ageing properties. Choose from four beautiful shades, designed to such different skin tones.

Key Ingredients:
Organic castor oil: Its specific fatty acid, ricinoleic acid, is renowned as a beauty treatment with amazing virtues. It relieves skin issues by its purifying, softening and healing action.
Organic shea butter: Shea butter is extracted from shea nuts, a tree growing only in the wild in West Africa’s savannahs. Its fatty acid-rich composition gives it moisturising and nourishing properties.
Organic pomegranate extract: Concentrated in punicic acid, pomegranate has anti-inflammatory and soothing qualities; also rich in phytosterols, which have antioxidant and anti-radical properties, it helps fight against ageing, as well as the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.
Although Zao isn’t completely plastic free, their balm lipsticks are refillable, making a much healthier, sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to purchasing an entirely new fully plastic product.
All of these Matte Lipsticks are talc-free vegan, organic and cruelty free with limited, if any plastic packaging.
As with all Zao products, this is free from talc and parabens (synthetic preservatives), instead Zao use micronised silver as an effective and non-toxic preservative. Zao does not use nanoparticles in their products, with the micronised silver being larger than nanoparticle size, making Zao products safe and free from man made toxic chemical preservatives.
Ingredients highlight:
Organic castor oil (Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil): This oil is an emollient, softening skin. It is also moisturising via retention of water, facilitating smooth, plump and soft skin.
Organic carnauba oil (Copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax): Secreted by the leaves of a Brazilian palm tree, the wax protects skin by producing a continuous film that increases the durability of makeup.
Jojoba oil (Hydrogenated jojoba oil): Calming and softening, this oil penetrates easily into the skin without trace of grease. It protects the lips against dehydration.

The bamboo Lipstick case is refillable.
The refills do come in plastic that is easily and fully recyclable but Zao are working towards replacing this plastic packaging with card/paper in the future.
