Shade All Natural Sunscreen SPF 25

Please note- When you use a natural Mineral filter sun cream it is necessary to create layer on top of the skin to protect it, contrary to chemical UV filter which creates chemical UV barrier within the skin, this sun cream will leave a white tinge to your skin when applied, but this is necessary and washes off and wears off.

Suitable for all skin types including people with sensitive skin, Shade All Natural sunscreen also nourishes as well as protects. Shade natural sunscreen protects your skin from the broadest spectrum of UVB and UVA rays.

The shea butter is 100% natural, soil Association certified organic and unrefined, great for nourishing the skin.

The coconut oil is Coconoil™ unrefined virgin organic and soil Association certified, one of the most ethical suppliers the manufacturers could source, has a natural low SPF and is also great for keeping the skin healthy.

The Beeswax used is premium, pure and unrefined. Beeswax has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-allergenic and germicidal antioxidant properties. It’s also great for locking in moisture and has water-repellant properties.

The zinc oxide used in Shade™ is a premium quality, uncoated non-nano zinc oxide. It offers the safest, broadest spectrum sun protection possible. It has slight astringent, antiseptic, antibacterial and active protective properties which make Shade™ a great after sun as well.

 

Does ShadeTM protect against UVA as well as UVB?

Shade™ offers broad spectrum protection, the SPF25 covers the UVB and the UVA emblem on the bottom label refers to the UVA protection.

The UVA Star rating system can no longer be used by sunscreen manufacturers such as ourselves other than the higher priced ones Boots itself sells and Boots own brands, as it is trademarked by Boots the Chemists, so we have been unable to use this test specifically to give it stars based on this testing system.

However the UVAPF Mean in the SO24443:2012 test conducted on Shade All-Natural Sunscreen (Unscented) came in at 24.77, giving it a PA++++ UVA grading, and if we were to be able to use the star system it would come out at 4/5 stars.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Shade is a mineral sunscreen, so a slight white cast when you first apply is normal.  That’s not a flaw, this happens because there aren’t 30+ chemicals. The white cast fades after 10 minutes anyway so is only a temporary trade off for 100% natural, safe sun protection.

Shade is intentionally different from most sunscreens. Sometimes that means your sunscreen has a little personality.

Sometimes it can look a little ‘grainy’.

Sometimes, it can smell a little strong.

These are quirks that can develop from using unrefined organic shea butter.
